Dot Health takes your privacy and security seriously. Our identity verification feature allows us to be sure your health records are in the right hands - yours.

When making your first request, you will automatically be sent through the ID verification process. You'll need to have a piece of government-issued ID with a photo (like a driver's license, passport, health card, or provincial photo card) on hand.

The process is simple! Follow the prompts on the screen which will ask you to take a photo of your ID, and then confirm that the photo is clear and easy to read. Next, you'll be asked to take a selfie - don't worry about getting glammed up, just make sure the photo is in focus and you're under decent lighting!

We ask for a photo of both your ID and yourself in order for us to complete the identity verification process you would do at a doctor’s office, virtually! We delete the photo of your government-issued ID immediately after verifying your ID. Your privacy and security is our utmost priority, and our ID verification process is part of how we ensure that you are in charge of access to your health records. If you have any further questions about our identity verification process, feel free to reach us at care@dothealth.ca
